They found LOVE

Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle; rather a beautiful reminder of how strong true love can be. And hey, there’s this thing called social media now. So long distance relationships aren’t very far away anymore.
Now is a new era when it comes to our romantic life. One’s relationship status can now change in just a click. Expression of love can now be felt through likes and comments in one’s facebook page, instagram, flickr, tumblr and twitter or through constant video calls and e-mailing.
Before, young people would write love letters in scented papers or stationeries and exchange these personally or through snail mail. Today, these practices seem so ancient. Only old people rely on snail mail and almost everyone would just log on to their social media accounts, type in their message of affection, and send it in just a click. Some people today would just date through emails and picture exchanges, it may seem difficult and tricky but with the help of picture editors like adobe, photoscape, picmonkey, picasa, pixLr and a lot more, what would be impossible? But also because of these editors, nobody could be trusworthy. Anyone can change their identity by tampering with their pictures. Someone could even fake their identities and tell lies about themselves. But despite of these doubts, there are still those who found true love through the internet.

Sophie Ellis, a photographer from England started a 365 photo challenge in flickr when a young man, Patrick Eggert, a photo enthusiast from Eugene, Ore came across her page and gave her some encouragement in her photo challenge. This exchange turned into messages in their flickr pages, to email and then skype. "I turned into a little nocturnal creature staying up till 5 a.m. to speak to this boy that saw the world the same way I did," says Sophie. They interacted online for about 18 months until Sophie flew out to meet Patrick. A few months later, he proposed to Sophie "We lived 5000 miles apart, but we still managed to spend half the year together, flying backwards and forwards and trying to make the most of a long distance relationship. It hasn't always been easy, but we've fought so hard to make it work." She says. Now they are engaged and would soon be husband and wife.

The love story of Santiago Perez and Taylor Dee started on instagram. Taylor was following Santiago when she saw one of his pictures and she was suddenly attracted to him. Months later, she won at one of the competitions on Santiago's page. They started talking on Kik and Facetime, and met in person. They are both based in different places but they're making their relationship work up until now.

So do you still say distance is a problem when it comes to relationships? Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Skype, Facetime, Kik, Twitter, and other social media sites might really prove you wrong!
