Too often, we underestimate the smallest act of kindness not knowing that it has the potential to turn a life around.
As I was walking one day in one the busy street of the cit when I encountered this frail old man sitting by a tree waiting for a customer to buy one of his roosters. My heart was suddenly engulfed with compassion and the urge to help. All I had that time were a few coins and pennies since I already spent my money on some shopping. So what I did was buy a waffle and bottled water which I then handed to the old man. What surprised me was the look of happiness and gratitude in his old face. He smiled at me and uttered a few thank yous.

A few days later, I was walking at the
overpass after buying some items from a supermarket when I saw this old blind
person sitting while asking for alms. Once again, I felt pity for the old man.
I had nothing then but money so I gave him a few cons and uttered a simple
prayer for his protection and provision. Again I saw that same smile full of
gratitude and with it came a feeling of contentment.
I
never knew that such a simple act of kindness could complete a day! People who
are in need of help are everywhere. We only need to open our eyes and hearts
and reach out to them.
